Patch notes

What changed in ShowHub, newest first. Each entry covers one Monday-to-Sunday week and is dated by its Monday.

New

  • Kick can now be connected as a source.
  • Themes handle creators who mostly stream. A live Twitch stream sorts first with a Live now tag, and a channel with nothing recorded gets an offline channel card.
  • Search & Ask on show sites: search every transcript as you type on Pro, and get a written answer with a link to the moment it came from on Business.
  • A Search & Ask embed for any website, also available as a WordPress block.
  • Pro and Business shows can upload their own audio and video files.
  • Setup now looks for the same creator on other platforms and lets you bring those accounts in at sign-up.
  • A ShowHub vs Podpage comparison page, plus a way to move over from Podpage and keep your old links working.
  • Light, dark and system themes on the site, docs and WordPress plugin admin.
  • Change your showhubco.com address from Publish: free on a show's first day, then two changes 30 days apart. Old addresses redirect to the new one.
  • Guides for adding DNS records at your provider, linked from the domain setup screens.

Improved

  • Starting one ShowHub player on a page pauses any others on that page.
  • Embeds show a loading placeholder that matches their look.
  • Episode rows nest an attached Watch or Listen episode under its pair, and an episode can be removed from sync so it doesn't come back.
  • Use case previews ask for just a username, can merge in your other platforms, and show real Twitch broadcasts and clips.
  • The homepage is shorter and points each kind of creator to the page for them, and its demo now covers Twitch and Kick and lets you pick what to merge.
  • New dark colors across the dashboard and docs.
  • WordPress plugin 1.0.7 adds Email Signup and Search & Ask theme embed blocks.
  • Blog contents lists show figure thumbnails.

Fixed

  • The browser Back button moves back one setup step instead of leaving setup.
  • Episode pages no longer show a duplicate YouTube player.
  • Loading the Sources page directly keeps you on Sources instead of sending you elsewhere.
  • Framed site previews no longer stutter between two sizes when resized.
  • Setup no longer offers SoundCloud next to another audio source.
  • Theme embeds on WordPress handle empty states properly.
  • Blog figure images no longer show blocky JPEG artifacts.

New

  • Saved embeds: keep several embeds per show, each with its own style.
  • Upload your own brand fonts and logo, and get a color palette and fonts picked from your cover art.
  • Show sites get a favicon from your branding.
  • Upload transcripts as .srt, .vtt or .txt files on every plan. Time codes on the episode page jump the player to that moment.
  • WordPress plugin updates install from inside the WordPress dashboard.
  • WordPress plugin 1.0.6 adds a player block, theme embed blocks, site search and a notifications bell.
  • WordPress theme embeds work in Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, Bricks and WPBakery, and through a shortcode.
  • Connecting the WordPress plugin works whether or not you already have a show.

Improved

  • A redesign across the public site, dashboard, docs and WordPress plugin.
  • Embeds draw in your site theme's own design, with one list and one editor for all of them.
  • Each episode's video or cover sits in a frame shaped like the content.
  • Themes list SoundCloud uploads as songs, not episodes.
  • Pick your channel from a list during setup instead of relying on a name match.
  • Sync approval, review and digest emails follow your notification settings.
  • The page template section editor shares one interface across templates.
  • Dashboard navigation bars stay in place as you scroll.
  • FAQ answers are more complete and come with visuals and links.
  • Scroll a creator's site inside the homepage preview.

Fixed

  • The WordPress plugin's Check again button finds a new ShowHub release on the same page load.
  • WordPress patch releases no longer report ShowHub as incompatible.
  • The WordPress podcast feed no longer lists YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify and Apple Podcasts page links as audio files.
  • The docs sidebar stays in place when you move between pages.
  • The phone tab strip no longer shows a scrollbar.
  • Importing a very large back catalog no longer sets off an unbounded amount of work.
