What's on an episode page?

The player, video or audio, your description as you wrote it, chapters, links to every app the episode is on, and on Pro and up the full transcript. It sits at a permanent address you can share.

On the page

  • A permanent link so you can share one episode instead of the whole channel.
  • Watch or listen from the same page. The YouTube video arrives first and the Spotify audio is added after the next daily feed check.
  • Links to every app the episode is on.
  • Your description as you wrote it. Edit it on YouTube and the page picks up the change.
  • The transcript on Pro and up.

What happens to my older episodes?

They get pages too, the day you connect, and the front of the site lists them all. A musician gets a page per track and a video creator a page per video.

The player on a website you already have

Lauren's recipe site is on Squarespace and she's keeping it there. She pasted one line of code into it when she signed up, and the player on it shows her newest episode.

Does it work on Squarespace, WordPress, Wix or Webflow?

Yes, on every plan, because your episode pages run on ShowHub's servers rather than inside your site. Paste one line on any page that accepts a snippet and the player always shows your newest episode. On Pro, the pages themselves can live on a subdomain of your site, like podcast.yoursite.com. On WordPress, the free ShowHub plugin also adds an Episodes page and a page for every episode to your site itself, with blocks for the block editor on every plan and elements for Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, Bricks and WPBakery on Business.

On Pro and up, the player can show a countdown to your next premiere instead.

Transcripts visitors can search

Within a day, the full transcript of episode 48 sits under the player. Listeners can skim or search for the part they want, and Google has 41 minutes of conversation to read instead of a two-line description.

Which plans include transcripts?

Pro and up. Pro adds transcripts to your episode pages and Business makes one for every episode automatically. Where YouTube already has captions, those are used.

Every transcript feeds one search box on Weeknight Kitchen's site. A listener who half remembers Lauren talking about freezing rice types “rice” and gets the moment in episode 47, with a button that plays it from there. On Business they can just ask, and get a short answer written from the episodes, each part linked to where it was said.

Can visitors search or ask about every episode?

Yes. On Pro, the search box on your site looks through every episode's transcript and each result plays from that moment. On Business, visitors can also ask a question and get a short answer written only from your episodes, with every sentence linked to the moment it came from.

Someone asks Google why their sheet pan vegetables keep going soggy, and episode 48 comes up with a line from its transcript. An AI assistant asked the same thing can list it as a source.

Why does Google show ShowHub pages?

Each page tells Google plainly what it is, who made it, how long it runs and what gets said in it. So when someone looks up the thing you talked about, your episode is a sensible answer, and AI assistants can point to it with a link.
