Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 29, 2026
Motorboat Media, LLC (“Motorboat Media,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Show Hub at showhubco.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit our website, create an account, connect content sources, publish pages, or use our embed widget.
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Account and profile information. When you register, we collect information such as your name, email address, username, and authentication identifiers through our authentication provider, Clerk.
Billing information. If you purchase a paid plan, payment details are processed by Authorize.Net. We receive billing status, subscription identifiers, and limited transaction metadata. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
Content and configuration data. When you use Show Hub, we store information you provide or authorize us to sync, including podcast or channel metadata, episode titles and descriptions, media URLs, transcripts, branding settings, custom domains, blog drafts, and published page content.
Connected platform data. If you connect third-party sources (such as YouTube, Spotify, RSS feeds, or DNS providers), we collect the data needed to sync and display your content, including OAuth tokens stored in encrypted form.
Usage and analytics data. We collect information about how you use the Service, including pages viewed, features used, clicks, device and browser type, IP address, and general location derived from IP. We use PostHog and our own analytics systems for product analytics and embed performance measurement.
Embed widget analytics. When visitors interact with a Show Hub embed on your site or hosted pages, we may collect event data such as page views, embed loads, and playback-related interactions. If you embed Show Hub on your own website, you are responsible for providing appropriate notice to your visitors, as described in our Terms of Service.
Communications. If you contact us, join a waitlist, or receive product emails, we collect the information you provide, such as your email address and message content.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Create and host your content hub, pages, embeds, transcripts, and related assets;
- Authenticate users and enforce account security;
- Process subscriptions and manage billing;
- Send transactional messages, such as account, billing, and service notifications;
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and prevent fraud or abuse;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms; and
- Develop new features, including AI-assisted transcription and blog draft generation.
We do not use your show name, logo, or public pages in marketing unless you give us explicit permission.
3. AI and Automated Processing
Certain features use automated systems and third-party AI providers to generate transcripts, summaries, blog drafts, and related content suggestions. Outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before publishing it.
To provide these features, we may send relevant content metadata, transcripts, or text excerpts to service providers such as OpenRouter, Replicate, or our transcription infrastructure. We use these providers only to deliver the requested functionality.
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account or request deletion, we delete or anonymize most personal information and user content within 30 days, except where we must retain data longer for legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution purposes. Billing and transaction records may be retained for up to seven years where required by law.
Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you may be retained longer for analytics and product improvement.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure handling of OAuth credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You may:
- Access and update certain account information in your dashboard or through Clerk;
- Disconnect third-party integrations at any time;
- Request deletion of your account by contacting us;
- Opt out of non-essential marketing emails using unsubscribe links, where provided.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information. We will honor applicable requests as required by law.
8. California Residents
If you are a California resident, you may have the right to request information about the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which we use it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined under California law.
